1 #2 can sliced pineapple 1 #2 1/2 can cling peach halves 1 #303 can whole figs 1 c. brown sugar, packed 1 c. cider vinegar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. whole allspice 1 tsp. whole cloves 4 (2 inch) sticks cinnamon 1/2 c. drained maraschino cherries Drain syrup from first 3 fruits into saucepan. Add sugar, vinegar and salt. Tie spices in cloth bag and add. Heat to boiling and boil 5 minutes. Add fruit and cherries. Reduce heat and simmer (do not boil) 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand overnight. Use or can. (Divide fruit into 3 half pint jars. Bring syrup to boil and pour over fruit. Seal. |
