BUTTERSCOTCH PICNIC BARS 
2/3 c. butter
2 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
3 eggs
2 2/3 c. flour, sifted
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch morsels
1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)

Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in brown sugar; remove from heat and cool 10 minutes. Add eggs, beat until smooth. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; stir into butter mixture. Add butterscotch morsels and nuts. Mix well. Spread evenly in greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven about 25 minutes, cool. Cut into bars. Yields about 50 bars, 2 x 1 1/2 inches.
