1 c. soft butter
2 c. sugar
4 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
M & M candy, optional
nuts, optional
chocolate chips, optional
oatmeal, optional
peanut butter, optional

Cream butter and sugar, add vanilla and eggs and blend well. Add flour and baking soda and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on foil lined cookie sheet or roll out and cut with a cookie cutter.

Bake at 400°F 10 minutes.

For sugar cookies dip the bottom of a glass in water then in dry sugar and press into dropped cookie dough. This works well for cut out Christmas cookies.
