3/4 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. softened butter
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
3 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, combine sugars. Add butter. Cream with sugar. Add vanilla and eggs. Add rest of ingredients. Mix well. Add chips and nuts (if desired). Drop by teaspoon.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool 1 to 2 minutes.
