1/2 c. salt
1 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. water
1 1/2 tbsp. oil
Food coloring

Mix salt, flour, and cream of tartar. Add oil and mix in. Mix water with food coloring and add to dry mixture a little at a time until thoroughly mixed. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it becomes the consistency of dry mashed potatoes. Remove from heat. Sprinkle a little cornstarch on it and knead until smooth. Makes 2 cups of play-dough. Stores well in a plastic bag.
