SNICKERDOODLES 
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. each baking soda & cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 tbsp. sugar

Beat butter and 1 1/3 cups sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In other bowl, stir flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Add to butter mixture and blend thoroughly. Chill dough.

In small bowl, stir cinnamon and 3 tablespoons sugar. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar to coat. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for about 12 minutes or until lightly brown. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
