1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef 1 sm. onion, minced 2 stalks celery, minced 12 oz. bottle chili sauce (bottled tomato sauce similar to catsup) 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sweet pickle relish 1/8 tsp. pepper In large skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit, cook beef with onion and celery until meat loses its red color. Pour off excess fat. In slow-cooking pot. Combine meat, onion and celery with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours. Spoon over toasted hamburger buns or French rolls. Makes 4 to 6 servings. Recipe may be doubled and mixture kept warm in slow-cooking pot for after-the-game party. |
