DOUBLE CHOCOLATE WALNUT COOKIES 
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. chopped walnuts

Melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips in double boiler. Cream together shortening, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Blend in melted chocolate. Mix in egg, beat well. Stir in milk. Combine flour with baking powder and salt. Blend flour mixture into batter. Stir in remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoon about 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.
