AU GRATIN CARROTS | |
TOPPING: 1 c. corn flakes, crushed 1 tbsp. melted butter Mix and save for topping. 1/3 c. chopped onion (about half of med. onion) 3 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 c. milk 1 1/2 tbsp. butter 1 c. grated American cheese (about 4 oz. hard cheese) 1 tbsp. chopped dried parsley 4 c. carrots, sliced and pre-cooked (allow about 20 to 30 minutes cooking time) Saute 3 tablespoons butter and onion until golden. Add 3 more tablespoons butter, salt and pepper, milk and 1 1/2 tablespoons butter. Cook until thick. Add cheese, parsley, and carrots. Place carrot mixture in a greased 9x13 inch pan; add corn flakes on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until bubbly. |
