COOKED RAISIN COOKIE 
Boil 2 cups raisins and 1 cup water for 5 minutes. Let cool. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda.

Cream 1 cup shortening with 2 cups sugar. Add 3 eggs and beat well.

Sift together 3 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder and pinch of salt.

Add raisins and liquid to dry ingredients. Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts.

Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown.
