1/2 c. shortening
4 tbsp. sour cream or 4 tbsp. milk with 1/2 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 tbsp. hot water
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Cream sugar and shortening. Add beaten egg, milk and soda. Add flavoring and flour. Roll and cut. Dough may be chilled before rolling. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. Be sure not to over-bake. This is a great recipe for Christmas cookies. Use your favorite powdered sugar icing.
