2 c. sugar 1/2 c. Crisco 2 eggs 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. cocoa 1 c. sour milk (add 1 tsp. of vinegar to a cup of milk) 1 c. boiling water 1 tsp. vanilla 4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda Cream the sugar, Crisco and eggs. Add the salt, baking powder, and cocoa. Mix well. Add the sour milk, water and vanilla. Mix well. Add the flour, and baking soda. Mix again. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 425 degrees for 5 minutes. Cool completely. FILLING: 5 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk 1 c. Crisco 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. powdered sugar Pinch salt Cook flour and milk over low heat stirring constantly until thick. Cool completely. Add Crisco. Cream with mixer. Mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla and salt. Ice a cookie and top with another cookie. |
