CANOE CRAB DIP | |
2 loaves unsliced Italian bread 1 c. mayonnaise 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese 1 c. crabmeat or shrimp 1 c. chopped onions Hollow out 1 loaf of bread. Break or cut the part you have removed and the entire second loaf into bite size pieces. Combine mayonnaise, cheese, crab, and onion in baking dish. May be done ahead to this point and refrigerated. Bake until hot and pour into hollowed out bread. Serve surrounded with bread pieces for dipping. Temperature: 350 degrees. Baking time: 20 to 30 minutes. HINT: If using canned crab or shrimp, improve its flavor by soaking the can in ice water for 1 hour before opening. |
