BARBEQUE SAUCE FROM CHOICES FOR
A HEALTHY HEART
 
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/3 c. cider vinegar
3/4 c. white wine vinegar
1/4 c. liquid smoke
1 1/2 tsp. Tabasco
1 1/2 tsp. Dijon mustard
3 cloves garlic, peeled (or equivalent dried)
1/3 c. brown sugar

In a medium pot, combine ingredients. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 1 1/2 hours. Makes 5 cups.

Note: Sauce will keep 4-5 weeks in refrigerator and may be frozen. The flavor is superior to commercial sauces.

Excellent on chicken, salmon and any other recipe you have using BBQ sauce.

This also makes an excellent, healthy Christmas gift in a fancy jar.
