CREAMED POTATOES 
3 lg. potatoes, peeled & thinly sliced (approx. 5 c.)
1 clove garlic, peeled
6 tbsp. butter
Pinch of nutmeg
1 1/2 c. heavy cream

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Dry potato slices in cloth. Rub garlic around inside baking dish. Butter dish well, using a third of butter, arrange potato slices in layers. Season with salt, sprinkle top lightly with nutmeg, pour over the cream. Dot remaining butter over surface. Bake in oven 10 minutes. Lower heat to 350 degrees and cook another hour. Serves 4.
