GLADYS' JEWISH APPLE CAKE 
3 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. oil
1 c. juice (apple, orange)
4 eggs
3 tsp. vanilla
3 or 4 apples

CINNAMON SUGAR:

2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cut apples in thin slices; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar; set aside. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, juice, oil and vanilla. Add eggs. Beat until well mixed. Place half the batter in tube pan and then place sliced apples on top. Sprinkle with more cinnamon sugar. Add second half of batter and place apples on top. Finish with remaining cinnamon sugar. Bake approximately 1 hour at 350 degrees (usually a little longer).
