GRANDMA'S JEWISH APPLE CAKE | |
4 McIntosh apples, pared & sliced 3 c. sifted flour 2 c. sugar (may use less) 1 c. Mazola oil 2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt 3 tsp. baking powder 4 whole eggs 1/3 c. orange juice 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. sugar Cream sugar and eggs and add oil, vanilla and orange juice. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. In separate bowl, mix apples with 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar. Grease and flour tube pan. Pour in half of the batter, then half of the apples. Pour rest of the batter on top, then remainder of the apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. |
