HOT HOMEMADE SANDWICH BREAD 
2 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
6-7 all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
2 lb. salami
1 lb. Swiss cheese
Egg Wash:
1 egg white
3 tbsp. water

Comments: Other cold cuts can be used; this recipe makes 2 loaves.

Sprinkle yeast on warm water; stir to dissolve. Add shortening, sugar and salt. Add 2 cups flour; mix well. Gradually add flour until dough is stiff. Knead 15-20 minutes, until dough is smooth. Place in lightly greased bowl; turn dough over to grease top; cover and let rise in warm place until doubled. Punch down, let rise again until doubled.

Turn onto lightly floured board; divide in half; cover and let rest 10 minutes. Roll each half into a rectangle; spread with yellow mustard or melted butter; add cold cuts alternating salami and cheese; fold both ends into middle and place seam side down on greased baking sheet; brush egg wash on top and sides. bake about 20 minutes. Brush top and sides again. Bake 10 minutes longer at 350 degrees.
