TAFFY 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Boil first 3 ingredients until mix turns brittle when dropped in cold water. Then add vanilla and soda. Pour into buttered plate. Turn in edges. When cold, pull until white and brittle. Butter hands occasionally so taffy won't stick to your hands.

3 c. sugar
1 c. hot water
1 c. Karo syrup, light

Stir ONLY to dissolve. Boil to 300 degrees. Remove immediately. Add oil flavoring, color, and stir. Pour over pan sprinkled with powdered sugar. Let cool. Crack.
