I've used this recipe before with various mixes and other goodies added. I made six different cookies and had my family vote on their favorite. The winner is: White cake with toasted almond slivers and dried cranberries! Drizzle with white frosting mixed with a small amount of almond extract.

I used Red Velvet Mix rolling the dough balls in powder sugar. I used 1/3 cup olive oil and a splash of water. I'm going to call them Chocolate Scabs in honor of Halloween. I baked them on parchment for 5 min then switched tray oven positions for the rest of the time.

It was great, I added a little more batter to make them bigger it also made it so they weren't burnt. :-)

I have used this recipe for years, but the one I was taught didn't use water, but a 1/2 cup of oil. This looks so much healthier!!!

I made this with M&M's to keep it simple and a white cake mix I had leftover. They were definitely a hit between my house and my boyfriend's house. The best thing was that they stayed soft, even after a couple of days.

Like someone else mentioned, they only took 10 minutes to bake, so it's best to shorten the time and then add more if needed.

This is my go to recipe for cookies!!! I always use Duncan cake mixes. My favorite combos are: Strawberry with white chocolate chips, chocolate with Reece's peanut butter chips, chocolate fudge with white chocolate chips and spice cake with raisins and walnuts! Remember to let people know if you use nuts due to allergy concerns.

THANK YOU so much for this recipe! I have made these with many kinds of cake mixes. Even brownie recipes and they turn out so GREAT! I think they are so easy and great for a person who does not bake much! Like me! I have used many candies used for baking in them and white chocolate chips are great with almost everything!! Thanks again! TRY THESE!!! I will be making strawberry cookies with white chocolate chips today!

Made these with white cake mix, used 1/2 c. mix-ins (mini M&M's and semi-sweet chocolate chips), dropped by measured tablespoon, and baked for 10-11 minutes. They were perfect. Seriously, some of the best cookies ever. So easy, so delicious.

We use this recipe so often that I only looked it up to be certain of the minutes in the oven that were recommended. I love that my 3 year old can feel very invested in every step of making these and we are done soooo quickly.

Here are some tips I have learned. It seems like every cake mix makes up a bit differently. B/C of a milk allergy in our house we almost exclusively use Duncan Hines and they make up to a classic cookie size and texture. Betty Crocker "Moist" Cake Mixes works and are very yummy, but makes up into smaller more cake like cookies. I have never had a generic cake mix work with this recipe, but as I said we typically buy Duncan Hines b/c of the allergy.

I have been having some success with reserving a splash of oil and water from my original measurements. I mix on low until the dough turns crumbly then add that extra splash into the mix and mix on medium to high speed. This helps prevent dry patches that I was often finding in the dough as I started to portion it out and helps get the texture we love most.

Happy Cookie Baking :)
