VEGETABLE SOUP 
4 lbs. short ribs
1/2 stalk celery
1 lg. garlic clove
4 large carrots
1/4 head cabbage, shredded
1 pkg. mixed frozen vegetables
4 onions
4 turnips
2 lg. can tomatoes
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
1 c. rice or barley or noodles
4 c. water

Boil meat until half done in water. Add celery, garlic, carrots, turnips, onions, and cabbage. Add mixed vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, and tomatoes. Cook for 1/2 hour, then add rice or barley or noodles and simmer until done. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serves 6.
