PEPPER STEAK 
3 lbs. round steak, cut 1 1/4 to 2 inch thick
1/2 tsp. unseasoned meat tenderizer

Put meat tenderizer on each side of round steak. Punch holes with fork before adding tenderizer.

MARINADE:

2 tbsp. minced onion
1 tsp. thyme
2 tsp. marjoram
1/2 c. salad oil
1 bay leaf, crushed
1 c. red wine vinegar

Marinate at least 4 hours, turning every half hour. Drain on paper towel. Add 2 tablespoons cracked pepper or peppercorns and pound into steak. Broil 5 inch below broiler 10-15 minutes each side. This is also good on the barbecue.
