STEAK AND PEPPERS | |
Round steak, enough for your family 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tbsp. red cooking wine; optional 1 med. onion 1-2 green peppers, for extra color use 1 red or yellow pepper 3-4 hot peppers, soak in water if dried 1 tbsp. peanut oil 1/4 c. water 1 tbsp. cornstarch Enough cooked noodles for your family needs Slice steak into thin bite size strips. It is best if they are uniform in size. Marinate in soy sauce and cooking wine for 1 hour. Slice onion and separate into half rings. Slice green peppers into uniform strips. Slice hot peppers (be sure to wash hands thoroughly after handling hot peppers!) Heat oil in a wok or skillet almost to smoking point, add steak and onions and stir fry until browned. Add peppers and cook, covered, for a few minutes. Stir a couple of times. When peppers are done to your taste, mix cornstarch and water, add to steak and peppers and stir to make light gravy. Serve over cooked noodles. |
