HALF-A-POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. creamery butter
1/4 c. Crisco
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. Swan's Down cake flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk

Combine sugar, butter, Crisco until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine cake flour and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add milk and beat full 5 minutes. Bake in 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan at 325 degrees for 1 full hour.
