SUGAR PLUM RING 
1 pkg. (16 oz.) walnuts
2 pkg. (8 oz.) pitted whole dates
3 (3 1/2 oz.) red cherries
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. tsp. vanilla
Light corn syrup
Red & green cherries, cut in 1/2
Whole walnuts

Generously grease a 9 inch spring-form pan; line bottom with wax paper, grease paper.

Combine nuts, dates, cherries in large bowl.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Measure flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into sifter and sift over fruit mix. Toss with wooden spoon until fruit and nuts are evenly coated. Beat eggs with vanilla until foamy in small bowl; stir into fruit mix until flour disappears and is evenly blended. Spoon into pan, pushing fruit down. Level top.

Bake 2 hours. Cool 15 minutes. Remove from pan. Remove wax paper. Brush top with corn syrup. Decorate with nuts and cherries when completely cool. Freezes well when wrapped with oil.
