CONGO BARS 
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nut meat
2/3 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 pkg. semi-sweet chips

Melt shortening, add brown sugar, stir until well blended. Allow to cool slightly, add eggs one at a time. Add dry ingredients, then add chopped nuts and chocolate chips. Spread in greased pan 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 inches. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
