GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
5 lbs. potatoes, red potatoes best
1 lb. bacon
4 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
2 med. onions, chopped

Cook bacon; drain all but 2 tablespoons of fat. Cook potatoes in jackets. When cool, peel and dice. Add chopped onion, salt and pepper to potatoes. Reheat bacon and add vinegar and sugar. Combine bacon and potatoes. Return to pan and simmer for 45 minutes.
