CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING 
3 c. milk
1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 c. sugar
4 c. 1/2 inch soft bread cubes
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a deep 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Heat milk over low heat until little bubbles form at pan edge. Remove from heat. Add butter, sugar, and bread cubes. Let stand 5 minutes. Beat eggs well in large bowl. Add salt, vanilla and nutmeg. Slowly stir milk mixture into egg mixture. Pour into greased dish. Set dish in a baking pan and add 1 inch of water to pan. Bake for 55 minutes until set.
