SOUTHERN PECAN PRALINES 
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk

In heavy saucepan, add all ingredients. Cook over medium high heat for 5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons butter and 2 1/2 cups pecans. Continue cooking until it reaches soft ball stage. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Beat until thick and creamy. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Let cool.
