VICTORIAN TUTTI-FRUTTI
Start in the summer while fruits are plentiful as that you can enjoy them during the winter months and the holidays.

Put a pint of brandy in a large (at least two gallons size) stone crock. Add fruits as they come into season (cherries, strawberries, raspberries, peaches, apricots and chunks of pineapple).

For each 2 cups of fruit add 2 cups of sugar. Put a good, tight cover on container. Set in a COOL place and stir daily until all the fruit has been added. Cover tightly and store 3 months before using; or seal in jars if this is more convenient.

The fruit produces its own liquor with the brandy starter. Serve on ice cream, pound cake, or stir into soft ice cream.
