WHITE FRUITCAKE 
1 c. shredded coconut
1 c. sliced citron
1 c. seedless raisins
1 c. chopped candied pineapple
1 c. candied cherries, sliced
2 c. blanched almonds, chopped
8 egg whites, stiffly beaten
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening
12 c. sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 c. fruit syrup

Combine first 6 ingredients with 1 cup flour. Sift remaining flour with baking powder. Cream shortening, sugar and flavoring until fluffy. Add sifted dry ingredients and syrup, alternately, beating well after each addition. Add fruit mixture. Fold in egg whites. Pour into greased 10" tube pan lined with greased brown paper. Bake in 275 degree oven for 3 to 4 hours.
