HOMEMADE PRETZELS 
2 pkts. dry yeast
2 tbsp. sugar
4 c. flour
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt
Coarse salt

Mix yeast in warm water. Add sugar and table salt. Add flour; mix. Knead dough on waxed paper until smooth. Break off pieces and roll and twist into shapes you like. Pretzels should be 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Place pretzels on cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
