YANKEE DOODLE MACARONI AND
CHEESE
 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. grated American cheese
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. butter
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook macaroni according to package directions, until tender. Drain. Place in a greased baking dish.

Combine butter and flour in a medium saucepan. Mix until well blended and smooth. Add milk, cheese, salt, pepper. Cook, stirring, over low heat until blended. Pour over macaroni. Bake, covered for 30 minutes. Top with crumbs and dot with remaining butter. Bake for 15 minutes or until crumbs are browned. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
