3 c. white sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. light corn syrup
3 c. pecans
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, buttermilk, soda and corn syrup in a large saucepan. Bring to a soft ball stage on candy thermometer. Add pecans just before removing from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Beat until mixture looses its gloss. Drop on waxed paper.
