GENALINES (BUTTERMILK PRALINES) 
2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
Pinch of salt
1 c. pecans (or more)
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. white Karo syrup

In a large pan put all ingredients except nuts. Stir well. Cook at medium high until candy forms firm ball in cold water. Immediately pour into large mixer bowl and mix at high speed until candy holds its shape when dropped on waxed paper. Add nuts, stir, and drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper. Makes about 30 patties.
