STRAWBERRY FIG PRESERVES 
4 c. peeled figs
2 boxes strawberry Jello
3 c. sugar

Be sure figs are not too soft and watery. Place dry Jello on top of figs and sugar on top of that. Let stand 45 minutes. Cook on low fire 5 minutes. Raise fire gradually, cooking for about 15 minutes more, almost a boil, not a fiery boil. Test small amount to see figs are cooked and mixture thick enough. Seal in sterile jars.
