SUN DOG 
1 c. flour
3/4 c. cornmeal
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
Hot dogs with popsicle stick stuck in one end
Oil for frying

Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, dry mustard, baking soda, and salt; cut in shortening. Add milk and egg; stir to remove most lumps. Pour into large drinking glass.

Dip hot dogs in batter, coating well. Fry at 300 degrees for 2 minutes. (Cook in deep fryer; hold popsicle stick and cook.)
