GOURMET PASTA 
1 lb. ground beef
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes or tomato sauce
1 tsp. chili powder
1 crushed garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Put tomatoes in blender until liquified. Brown meat in 1 tablespoon oil. Add tomato sauce, tomatoes, salt, pepper, chili powder, and crushed garlic. Simmer 10 minutes. 1 tbsp. butter

Cook noodles according to directions; drain. Add butter and mix well. 1 c. sour cream 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese

While noodles are still warm, add onions, sour cream and cream cheese to them and mix until well blended.

Grease 2 quart casserole. Put 1/2 layer of noodle mixture in bottom of casserole, then 1/2 of meat mixture, then a layer of grated cheese; repeat the 3 layers ending with the grated cheese on top. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes or until bubbly on top. This can be prepared ahead and frozen or prepared the day before and refrigerated. If frozen, the baking time will be longer. NOTE: Good additions would be jalapeno peppers, black olives.
