OVERNIGHT FRENCH TOAST | |
2 tbsp. corn syrup 1/2 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar slices of French bread, sliced 1-inch thick 3 or 4 apples, peeled and sliced 5 eggs 1 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt In a saucepan, over low heat, combine corn syrup, butter and brown sugar. Cook just until it is syrup. Put this mixture in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Cover the syrup completely with the apple slices. Place the bread slices on top of the apples. Combine the eggs, milk, vanilla and salt. Beat together and pour over the bread slices, wetting well. Refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F for 45 minutes. |
