APPLE DUMPLINGS 
Make recipe for a 2 crust pie. Divide in 4 equal parts. Have ready 4 apples (peeled and cored). Roll out in a 7 inch to an 8 inch circle. Place one apple on the pie crust. Fill hole with brown sugar and a little cinnamon, topped with a dab of butter.

Bring up the 2 opposite sides of the crust and then the other two sides. Press on top so crust will seal. Place in an 8 x 8 inchpan.

In a saucepan, mix and heat until dissolved:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter

Pour this around the dumplings. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 to 45 minutes, until the apple is tender when forked. Serve warm with syrup from pan drizzled over it and with a little ice cream.
