SOPAIPILLA 
1 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. shortening
1/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. water

Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together into a bowl and cut in the shortening. Stir in the buttermilk and water until mixed. Roll out on a floured surface about 1/8 inch thick. Fold over and roll out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 3 inch triangles or squares. Cook in deep hot fat until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with syrup or honey.
