CAROLYN'S CABBAGE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lg. onion, coarsely chopped
1/2 med. cabbage, coarsely chopped
6 c. chicken broth
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
3 peppercorns
4 allspice berries
1 bay leaf
1 (12 oz.) can V-8 juice
2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
Grated Cheddar cheese
Dab of sour cream for garnish

Brown beef in heavy soup pot. Add onions and stir until soft. Combine all ingredients except V-8 juice and tomato paste. Simmer 1 hour. Add juice and tomato paste, then simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with your topping of cheese and dollop of sour cream. 4-6 servings.
