HEARTY CABBAGE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lg. onion, coarsely chopped
1/2 med. head cabbage, chopped or shredded
6 c. chicken broth
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
3 peppercorns
4 allspice berries
1 bay leaf
1 (12 oz.) can V8 juice
2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
Grated cheese or sour cream for garnish

Brown beef in a heavy soup pot, add onions and stir until soft. Combine all ingredients except V8 juice and tomato paste. Simmer for 1 hour. Add V8 and tomato paste and simmer another 30 minutes. Serve topped with grated cheese and-or dollop of sour cream.
