FRIED PIES 
fruit filling

Crust:

2 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. Crisco shortening
3/4 c. milk

Blend shortening into flour. Add milk to make dough. Pinch off small amount. Roll out on a floured surface into a circle. Put small amount of fruit filling (cherry, blueberry, peach, apple or dried apple) in center. Fold over and seal edges by pressing edges down with a fork. Heat oil in a frying pan and brown pies on both sides. Drain and cool on paper towel.
