SWEET CUCUMBER PICKLES 
Dissolve 2 cups pickling lime in 2 gallons water. Add 7 pounds sliced cukes. Let stand 24 hours, stirring occasionally. Wash thoroughly 5 times and drain well.

SYRUP:

2 qts. plus 1 pt. white vinegar
5-6 lbs. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. celery seed
1/2 box pickling spice

Bring to a boil. Pour over cukes. Let stand 24 hours. Boil all together for 45 minutes. Seal in sterilized jars. They are ready for use.
