TORTILLAS 
4 c. flour
1 tbsp. salt
3 1/4 c. shortening (not oil)
1 1/4 c. lukewarm water

In large bowl mix flour and salt; add shortening until blended well. Add 1 cup water and with both hands begin to knead. You may take dough out of bowl and finish kneading. 1/4 cup water can be added as you feel necessary, little at a time.

Next make balls of dough by squeezing dough between fore finger and thumb, pinch off. Now put small amount of shortening for each ball in palm of hand and grease all balls lightly by rolling between both palms. Now you are ready to make tortillas.
