BANANA BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. mashed ripe bananas
1 1/4 c. self-rising flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. walnuts

Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add one egg at a time, beating well after each one. Stir in bananas. Sift dry ingredients. Add to bananas. Add nuts; mix well. Pour into a well greased 9"x9"x2" pan. Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
