TENDER CRISP COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. shortening
1 c. powdered sugar and 1 c. sugar
3 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt

Cream together butter and shortening. Add sugars and vanilla, eggs and mix. In another bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add mixtures together and blend. Roll dough into 1 inch (1 teaspoon balls) and then place on cookie sheet. Press down each ball with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Sprinkle with more sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
