FIG PRESERVES 
6 lbs. ripe figs
4 1/2 lbs. sugar
1 box strawberry Jello

Cut off stems and wash figs. Put figs into a big pot adding the sugar. Let figs sit in sugar until the sugar melts. Cook on low heat until the figs and sugar begin to get thick, stir in 1 box of strawberry Jello. Stir so the figs will not stick to the bottom of the pot. Have preserve jars ready to put preserves in them and place a seal jar lid top on them. Good eating with toast or biscuit.
