BETTY'S MYSTERY FRUITCAKE 
STEP 1:

Bake Betty Crocker Honey Spice Cake Mix, following package directions. (Or you can use Betty Crocker, White, Yellow or Chocolate Devils Food Cake Mix.) Cool and crumble into large bowl or pan.

STEP 2:

Add fruits to crumbled cake:

4 c. candied mixed fruit (two 1 lb. jars)
1/2 c. each whole red and green cherries (1/2 lb.)
1 1/2 c. seedless raisins (1/2 lb.)
1 c. dates, cut up (6 1/2 oz. pkg.)
4 1/2 c. pecan halves (1 lb.)

STEP 3:

Make up Betty Crocker Fluffy White Frosting Mix, following package directions. Mix with cake and fruits.

STEP 4:

Pack tightly into foil lined 10 inch tube pan or two 9x5x3 inch loaf pans. Cover cake with foil and chill in refrigerator at least 24 hours. Cake should be kept refrigerated. Makes a 6 1/2 pound fruitcake.
